We'll meet in Springdale, Utah on Saturday and start riding Sunday morning. Fly into Las Vegas on Saturday, the day before the start of the tour, where a shuttle will pick you up at 2:00PM for the two hour shuttle ride to Zion National Park..
After checking into our hotel, the Majestic View Lodge, you'll have the chance to get settled, check out the park, and set up your bike. Later, at an early evening orientation, we'll provide an overview for the week, make introductions, pass out jerseys and answer any questions you have.
Today marks the biggest climbing day of the tour. We'll ride through Zion
up a series of switchbacks with amazing views to the Zion-Mt
Carmel tunnel, where we'll shuttle through to the east entrance. This
begins a beautiful ride through the upper east portion of the park, where
we'll pass geological wonders such as Checkerboard Mesa. Don't forget
your camera!
After leaving Zion we'll turn north, meandering
through sleepy towns and eventually meeting Scenic Byway 12. After climbing
through the geological wonders of Red Canyon on a gently sloping bike path,
we'll head toward Bryce National Park and it's historic lodge, our hotel for the
evening. Take a stroll to the park rim and watch the patterns of light
flow across the hoodoos in the setting sun!

Prepare to be amazed. Riiders always name today's route as one of their best days on a bike. Today we leave Bryce and head out on Scenic Byway 12 toward Grand Staircase
Escalante National Monument, and it's amazing canyon country.
This is one of the west's most scenic drives with panoramas of vast slickrock
"oceans" and scenic canyons cut by the Escalante River.
Numerous roadside overlooks and exhibits may be found along the
route, including Escalante Petrified
Forest State Park, indian cliff dwellings, Calf Creek Recreation Area, and
Anasazi Indian Village State Park. Tonight we stay at the amazing Boulder Mountain Lodge and dine at the world famous Hell's Backbone Grill.
75 miles / 4,500 ft. elevation gain
Today we climb! The highlight of today's ride is a 14 mile, 4,000 foot ascent
straight up Boulder Mountain. Continuing along Scenic Byway 12, we'll
pass through forests of fir, giving way to aspen, as we climb toward the
9,200' summit. Here we are rewarded with fantastic views of the Grand Staircase
from above, and a 10 mile descent on the other side!.
After the ride we shuttle into Capitol
Reef National Park for lunch and explore
one of the amazing slot canyons that gives Canyonlands its name.
48 miles / 4,000 ft. elevation gain
Today's 112 mile ride marks the longest ride of the tour. But don't worry, the first 35 miles is a gradual downhill!
We start by winding through the incredible narrow canyons of Capitol
Reef National Park on our way out into the vast expanse of Canyon Country.
After a brief ride through the agriculture and mining community of Hanksville,
we'll cast out into 100 mile vistas along the Trail of the Ancients Scenic
Byway.
We then climb through red rock country,
on our way to Lake Powell National Rec Area. We'll be staying at
Defiance House Lodge, which overlooks spectacular Lake Powell, arguably
the most beautiful lake in the country.
112 miles / 3,900 ft. elevation gain
Today we ride the Burr Trail, a serpentine road that snakes through sheer
canyon walls as it slowly climbs from Lake Powell up to Scenic Byway 12. Along the way
there are fantastic views the Waterpocket Fold, Boulder
Mountain, Capitol Reef, and a gripping ride up the switchbacks of Burr
Canyon.
You have an option today. Those feeling strong after the long ride yesterday
may start out from Lake Powell for a 55 mile ride. Those a little
leg weary may shuttle to the far boundary of Capitol Reef
for a 35 mile ride into Boulder. Either way, both rides require a short, very
scenic shuttle over a 16 mile section of dirt road. Tonight we stay once again at Boulder Lodge.
55 miles / 2,800 ft. elevation gain
Today we ride back toward Bryce and are rewarded with another day winding through the canyon country of the Grand Staircase. After an all natural breakfast at the Hell's Backbone Grill we ride back across the Devil's Backbone and down the 14% grades we climbed on day three.
After lunch near the Escalante Petrified Forest with time to check out an indian cliff dwelling, we'll climb back up to Bryce Canyon where we shuttle back to Zion and the Majestic View Lodge.
If you're not too tired from the ride, take some time to hike in the park before our farewell dinner.
75 miles / 4,000 ft. elevation gain
Today we say goodbye to our new cycling friends, and for those with flights, an early morning departure for Las Vegas..
