We'll meet in Carmel Valley, California on Saturday and start riding Sunday morning. Fly into San Jose Saturday morning, where a shuttle will pick you up and take you to the ride start. After checking into our hotel, you'll have the chance to get settled in and set up your bike. At an early evening orientation we'll provide an overview for the week, make introductions, and answer any questions you have.

After flying into San Jose and shuttling to the Carmel Valley, the first day finds us riding
country roads to Carmel By the Sea. We'll ride through Pebble Beach along the
famous Seventeen Mile Drive, then head south along the coast to Big Sur. Have your camera ready to snap a photo of the famous cypress tree! Our hotel for the night is the popular
Big Sur Lodge. Nestled in the forest cliffside, you'll be able to watch the sun set over the ocean while enjoying a superb dinner.
60 miles / 3,000 ft. elevation gain
Views abound as we ride the entire Big Sur coastline to Cambria. Along the way we'll pass lighthouses, sea lions, and San Simeon's Hearst Castle. Enjoy the best views on the California coast. If you have never seen this section of the Pacific coastline you are in for a treat! After such an epic ride it's only right that we stay on legendary Moonstone Beach in Cambria. Our homebase for the next two nights is the charming Fireside Inn. Sitting amid towering pines and rolling hills, our rooms overlook the breathtaking panorama of Moonstone Beach and the Pacific Ocean.
70 miles / 4,600 ft. elevation gain
We'll have time to see Hearst Castle and visit a winery, but first we ride up into the hill country above Cambria toward the Paso Robles Wine country, earning staggering vistas of the coastline. We'll follow narrow and quiet mountain roads that bloom with wildflowers in the Spring. This is a serious climbing day, but the route is designed so that you can always turn around and ride downhill back to the hotel and the local shops of Moonstone Bay and Cambria.
50 miles / 5,000 ft. elevation gain
On day four we head south along quiet canyon and coastal roads through the seaside
towns of Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and Pismo. We'll ride by the famous Morro
Bay rock and Morro Bay State Park, before turning inland toward San Luis Obispo and
riding through the hills to the seaside resort town of Pismo Beach. Our hotel for night, the Shelter Cove Lodge, sits perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean.
50 miles / 1,500 ft. elevation gain
Day five we leave the coast and head inland toward the wine country of the Santa Ynez Valley and the danish town of Solvang. Just east of Santa Maria we'll pick up a favorite local ride, Foxen Canyon Road, and glide past wineries and pastoral hills on our way to Solvang and the Wine Valley Inn, our home for the next two nights.
70 miles / 3,500 ft. elevation gain
Our final day we'll link up sections of popular local rides, including the Solvang Century and Figueroa Mountain loop, so that we ride the best of the Santa Ynez Valley. There will be time for exploring all the shops in Solvang and wine tasting at the local wineries made popular in the film "Sideways", before we say goodbye to the central coast and head back to the Carmel Valley.
70 miles / 3,700 ft. elevation gain
Today we say goodbye to our new cycling friends, and for those with flights, an early morning departure for San Jose.
